I have to admit, this article is being published almost two months after I meant it to be, but for good reason! We have been insanely busy ramping up our team, our product, and our partners.
Last November 27th I officially introduced Breathe Life to the world and spoke about everything we had accomplished in the previous 12 months since our inception in November 2017. Since then, it feels like we’ve been moving at warp speed.
For starters, we have been hard at work growing our team in order to ensure that we can be pushing forward our vision of bringing financial security to all people, whoever and wherever they are. In the last 8 months, we have grown from 15 to 28 with 8 of those joining in the last 3 months! Our engineering team has done a great job of introducing their new members to the world, along with them I’m so excited to welcome Anne, Caroline, Jérémie, Abutaleb, Audrey, Pete, Francois, Valentijn, and Eric who have all joined since the beginning of this year. We have been steadily building out our engineering, data, product and business teams in order to better meet the needs of an evolving market. Next week we are moving our team into a brand new and much bigger office space in the Old Port of Montreal and are poised to add another 10 members to our team by the end of the year. Interested in joining us as we change the personal insurance space? Check out our job postings here.
Product & Partners
The growth in our team has enabled us to officially launch the first module of our platform, the Consumer-Driven Module — a white-label solution that enables you to distribute personal insurance products directly online. Last December, we announced National Bank Insurance as our first partner using this module and more will be made public in the coming months. On top of that, a few weeks ago we announced La Capitale as the first partner using our Advisor-Driven Module (more news on this part of the platform will come in the next few weeks!). This module is all about empowering the advisors to distribute more complex products to consumers through a digital medium.
I couldn’t be more excited that we now have our two main modules live and have several partners using them across Canada and our first US partner going live shortly. Every day we are seeing more and more happy consumers who now have easy access to personal insurance products and that’s what we set out to do!
P.S. If you’re going to Startupfest make sure that you join us for Wakeupfeston the morning of July 11th from 6:30 am to 8:30 am. We’ll be hosting a yoga and dance party with a healthy breakfast — the perfect way to prepare yourself for a big day at the festival! See you there!
